A4 Aces
A4 Aces is a VR mobile game that I did level design for, concepting and putting together the entirety of one of the two levels (Office 1).
The player would take control of a paper plane, with the camera sitting just slightly behind and above the plane. The player would fly around by aiming their heads around and try and shoot target balloons around the level.
I initially suggested that we go for an office setting celebrating an employees birthday so the paper plane would fit more naturally into the level, also allowing for a more fun look to an office level, instead of a drab looking general office it ended up being a really colourful bright office that really popped.
My main objective with creating this level was to accurately create an office setting that felt realistic and functional, while also giving the player a good amount of space to fly around and explore.
Something that helped me a lot with creating this level was that I worked full time at a call center office for two years, so I vividly remember what offices looked like.
I started with greyboxing the level using ProBuilder and an office themed free asset pack to get the skeleton of the level ready to show the art team and then the art team produced some incredible looking pastel art assets for me to then put together the final level with.
